Can it ever be any better?
The question was haunting. It still comes to my
mind everyday. At Florida's St. Augustine High
School a young lady ask, "Can it ever be any
better?"
Can it?
It's hard for many to see beyond the dark days
of disappointment...
*rejecton by peer and friends at school;
*lack of confidence because you can't measure
up to others expectations;
*racism because of color, faith and differences;
*breaking up with your first 'true love';
*divorce of parents;
*teenage pregnancy and abortion;
*alcohal and drug intake because at a
party it was acceptable;
*and death of someone close to you.
The list is endless. A young friend named
Greg wrote me, speaking of disappointment
by people so well, "...you don't want to go
through having your heart broken again..."
I believe what lies behind us and what lies before
us are tiny matters compared to what lies with
in us!
In you is a great dream. Commitment to that
dream will give you power to overcome all obstacles
of disappointment. You can grow beyond the pain.
What can you do?
Remember, don't drag the disappointments of the past
in the opportunities of your future. If you keep dragging
the past, it will never be better. Your outlook will always
be that of a victim!
Dream a dream! Define a dream! Work your dream!
Get positive caring people in your life who believe in
you! You will grow beyond disappointments and
know victory!
In hard times you can win
The question lingers in my mind from a 9th grade
girl with a broken heart, "Mister I lost my baby,
I'm to young to be a Mom, but can it ever be
any better?"
Philippians 1:6 (KJV) says, "Being confident of
this very thing, that he which hath begun a good
work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
Christ."
It happened for me and will happen for her,
it can be better!
