LOSS MOTIVATES WINS!

Jackie Stiles loves to win! She
grew up in the small town of
Caflin, Kansas (population 616).
She would run track and become
an outstanding basketball player.

When she leaves college she
will become one of the top draft
picks of the Women's National
Basketball Association.  Her
motivation started ten years ago!

When Jackie was 12 years-old,
she was a constant companion
of her new baby sister Carlie.

When Carlie was nine-months
old, a congenital brain condi-
tion affected her.  Soon the
little sister passed away.

"I saw her struggles," Jackie
says, "I saw her not get a
chance.  It made me realize
how blessed I am to have
God-given talents.

I set my mind to make the
most of everything I've been
blessed with because Carlie
didn't get that chance.  It
really has driven me and
motivated me to accomplish
great things in honor of her."

When Carlie died, her sister
Jackie tucked a national gold
track medal into the little coffin.

Now this 5' 8" tall Southwest
Missouri State basketball
player has been called '"the
female Michael Jordon." She
holds the NCAA women's
basketball record of 3,371
career points and 1,040 for
one season!

During this years basketball
season she has averaged just
over 30 points a game!  She
led her 5th nationally ranked
team to the women's National
semifinals.

Her motivation?

The loss of a little sister who
never lived beyond infancy. The
loss motivated her to win.
