I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your contribution to this mission for 2005. It is because of your love, prayers and support of this mission we have been able to make great advances to spread and share the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Following are highlights of the year.
January 12 – began broadcasting 24/7 on our own Channel 93, a Cornwall Communications Ltd. TV station in Montego Bay, Jamaica. After 12 years of ministry in that nation another great door was opened to us.
February 15 – ATWR received the “People’s Choice” award from Christian Net Cast as one of three top favorite Christian Internet Stations (out of 500 stations).
February 25 – 27 – the first Friends Forever Missions Gathering (weekend retreat) held at the nearby Family Worship Center in Troy, North Carolina. There were 156 participants in a weekend designed with the focus to “be a person of mission.”
March – acquired the one acre property next to the Chalet Guest House from the Seven Lakes North Association. It was a miracle. The former owner had given it back to the Association, and they were looking to sell. We were able to purchase it for the ministry at $4,000 less then the asking price. This land is paid in full!
April 1 – went “on the air” LIVE for the first time on Channel 93, Montego Bay.
June – we had the second year of our internship program for Jamaica missions. The 9 participants were from North Carolina, Virginia, Missouri, Texas and Georgia.
July – had the honor of working with 210 leaders and students who participated in the summer www.ilovejamaica.org missions trips. There was great attendance increase in all Vacation Bible School programs. This is due to the great teams returning and ongoing promotion on our Channel 93. During the three weeks of mission’s trips, we were able to produce 14 one hour programs with emphasis on prayer for the children of Jamaica.
August – began the first of many major upgrades to our “Around the World Radio” and
“I Love Jamaica” websites.
September 3 – we added a 3rd channel to Around the World Radio. It was an audio and TV stream channel (we can air live and/or prerecorded tape). We have established a Sunday night broadcast schedule for the rest of the year with additional special events.
October – celebrated our 4th anniversary of being ‘on air’ with the 24/7 radio channel and 3rd anniversary of having the LIVE channel.
November – we had our first TV Marathon, an 84 hour Thanksgiving TV broadcast weekend. Plus on the radio side we high our highest ratings month of listeners ever! We had more individual people connect and listen for almost 8,000 hours of radio! There we 42 nations that connected to us!
December 23-27 – Christmas TV broadcast weekend airing 93 hours.
December 31 _ the only national media to cover the final concert of the Petra Band. We audio streamed their concert and were “on the air” for 11 ˝ hours LIVE to end the year.
Additionally, I spoke at a number of churches across America. My emphasis was on “discovering your dreams” and “being the best you can be”! Plus many of the weekends I was brought in to speak to leadership teams at the host churches.
On a personal level, this past year was a great challenge. I was bit by a dog in Jamaica in July, had a torn ligament in my right knee in September, and now at the end of the year I am fighting an infection in my body (the doctor in Sterling, IL gave me medicine and said “lose 30 pounds”). Please pray for me that 2006 will be better. We are going to make it!
