April 2006
friends forever missions newsletter

I would like to share with you that the close of the first quarter of 2006 brings great excitement! The Lord continues to expand this mission. I want to share with you about four areas.

First, at the Pinehurst home base we are finalizing to acquire our fourth ministry property on Prince Andrew Lane. This will accommodate more guests for weekend media sessions, summer interns, and a future employee. We will call this the “Leadership Cottage.”

Secondly, after four and a half years, 24 hours a day, aroundtheworldradio.org (ATWR) Channel Dell Computer has to be replaced. We are looking at a new mega computer to give us more radio broadcast flexibility. The last four months we have gained more  listeners. During January 06 we had our third highest rated month ever with 36 different nations listening!

Thirdly, one of the best methods we have used to carry the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ is to produce our Friends Forever radio program and put it on a CD disc for students.  While I was in Montego Bay, Jamaica from March 8-14, I gave out a radio program on CD that I had produced for the sixth grade classes of Albion Primary School and Chetwood Primary Memorial School. That was a total of 124+ CDs!

On this trip, 6th graders were given the Gospel on disc with a positive voice and sound.

Along with great music from Kirk Franklin, Petra, The Katina Brothers, and Andrae

Crouch there was a spoken message.  I speak on the CD about “Prayer Brings Much,”

from James 5:16 (prayer is a tool, target and a treasure). Thank you for your support to

this mission. This coming month you are helping put the arms of the Lord Jesus Christ

around more 6th graders at Farm Pond Primary School and Flankers Primary School in

greater Montego Bay, Jamaica.  Together we are giving them a CD gift that I know they

will play many times. More schools are opening up. The need is to produce and duplicate

more outreach CDs. Always keep in mind, I still have America’s sixth graders in my spiritual site lines.

Finally, abroad at our TV Channel 93 in Jamaica, there is an opportunity to acquire a transponder to send our signal to nearby Lucea. This equipment is a transmitter-receiver activated for transmission by our signal from Montego Bay.

Lucea has a population near 7,000, but the parish area has over 67,000 people! It will be incredible to extend our Channel to this growing community.

You can help today. We are at the 52% of our budget for monthly support. That kind of missions giving makes a great difference over the course of time. I thank you. Your kind gifts help us literally “spring forward” at this time of the year.

Also, pray for this Friends Forever Mission we lead that uses 21st Century Technology and personal touch. I make this prayer request: Mention us in your churches prayer this Sunday.

Next month I begin my twenty-seventh year of full time ministry. Half of those years have been as a missionary evangelist to reach people.  The first quarter of 2006 is another great segment of life. As it closes, more ministry doors continue to open. As this mission expands we are able to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to more people.

Thank you,

Dr. Mark Muirhead
