NEW YEAR'S
REVOLUTIONS!
Most New Year's resolutions are
wishes. This year go beyond making
resolutions, and some revolutions!
Dwight McDonald says, "A revolutionary force breaks down the old
barriers." The result of a personal revolution is change! The change
will bring new thoughts, attitudes and behavior.
As a militant struggling in this world and not of it, be it resolved:
*I want the God of America, not the America of God.
*I want the anointing of God, not just the applause of men.
*I want to give and go for the gospel, not just take and stay.
*I want to lead by example with conviction,
not merely administer and manage by copying others!
*I want to practice daily gratitude not bumble through life unappreciative.
*I want to identify, invest and intensify what works, and not be a caretaker
in a ministry mausoleum.
*I want to do more missions work than attend missions luncheons.
*I want to stand with young people, not just stand for them.
*I want my family to love the Lord and our lives together, and not resent me
because I would be married to the ministry first.
*I want to do away with Christian rock, not the music but the words Christians
throw like rocks at people who express themselves differently.
*I want to be a doer of the word and not just listen and report the latest
Christian leadership guru's publications.
*Finally, I want to finish the race with integrity not pride, excessiveness,
and deception that causes confusion and others to stumble.
The words of Tony Campolo invoke revolution to leaders when he says,
"For God so loved the world, He sent His son to enter face to face
loving relationships. Sometimes that administration stuff can be a subtle
escape from personal involvement with people in a face to face
relationship."
Make your New Year's Revolutions.
They begin in the heart, are renewed in the
mind and practiced in daily discipline.
Let your year begin with a revolution!
