WHAT ABOUT ME?
Two brothers in San Bernardino, California had a drive-in restaurant!
They made some menu changes so people could drive up and order items
that were wrapped up in paper bearing Richard and Maurice's last name!
The brothers hamburgers and French fries became famous! A gentleman
named Ray Kroc had heard about this drive-in hamburger stand! Ray
packed up his card from his home in Illinois and headed west! When he
arrived he never had seen so many people served so fast in all his life!
He walked up to the brothers and asked, "Why don't you open up more than one restaurant?"
The brothers said, "Even if we wanted to, who could we get to open them for us?
Ray Kroc said, "What about me?"
Kroc would mortgage his home and use his life savings. He would become
the eventual owner of the restaurants that would bear the last name of the
two brothers. Those restaurants are now in 116 countries with over
24,500 franchises! You know them! They are the home of the
Golden Arches! Billions have have been served at McDonalds!
The early days of having world wide fast-food restaurants seemed impossible!
McDonalds was all set in motion with one question, "What about me?"
Ambition has been called the hope for achievement. Author Ted Engstrom
has said ambition is like "a man who has fixed purposes and goals knowing
where he is going. He will accomplish so much more than the person without
clearly defined goals. The leader with ambition is looking for new worlds to
conquer."

Ray Kroc was a salesman! He was selling a new milkshake machine that
could make more than one at a time! This was a new way to administrate
milkshakes! You could serve more than one customer at a time!
Krocs sales ambitions and multi - dimensional approach to customer service was
the perfect match when he saw the excellent product the McDonalds brothers
produced! His leadership could flourish in the type of environment the brothers had created!
